For every bill passed by the legislature and case heard by the courts, there is a cost to be paid by the taxpayers of the State of Illinois. Now, more than ever, it is necessary to understand aspects of government outside of the partisan politics and media circuses. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) answers to the office of the Governor, and is called upon to offer guidance to our legislative colleagues regarding the feasibility of the various proposals that occupy the Chambers (House & Senate) on a day-to-day basis as well as overseeing the budgets of all agencies, from Transit, to Law Enforcement, to Education and everything in between. Over the course of this simulation, you will learn what it takes to manage the business of Illinois.
